While working with a product GM a few weeks ago to prep for a critical launch, he wanted the shortest possible briefing doc. Can you blame him? A product launch is about so much more than the press briefings. There was A LOT on his mind!!
We came up with a great idea – a taxonomy of questions. His team created a one pager that included:
- A list of expected categories of questions: things like competition, use cases, availability, customer expectations, partners
- One answer prompt for each category
That was it. He knew his product well enough to go from there.
His team gave him exactly what HE needed to feel supported and confident, which was not the voluminous document with words to answer every single possible question that makes us PR people feel like we’ve done a great job!
Well done team!
