Oh my goodness it’s conference season again! Are you ready?
You are giving a big talk at your user conference. Whether you’re on the main keynote stage or doing a breakout on the latest in MCP, you know you must invest seriously in preparation to reap real rewards.
Practice builds comfort. Comfort builds confidence. When you feel confident as a communicator, you become natural and articulate. You can focus your energy on giving your audience useful insights and information, rather than worrying about remembering your talking points. That’s when the magic happens.
Push to get your content nailed at least a few days before your talk. Then, practice in the shower. Practice on your commute – record yourself on your phone and listen while you’re trapped on the freeway. Present to your dog. He will be fascinated and attentive.
An unprepared communicator who wings it may stick the landing one in a hundred times. If you’re comfortable with those odds, good for you. But a prepared communicator delivers consistently, and gets consistently better at delivery every time she speaks.
Take the risk out of being in the spotlight! I can prepare you, your teams and your leaders to tell your company’s story with confidence, shape the industry and maybe even change the world.
